J.L. Maire

j.l.maire is a composer who mostly uses modular synthesisers to make music. He is interested in the study of acoustic phenomena and the use of non-tempered proportions (mainly extended just intonation tunings), as well as using the synthesiser as an instrument of reverberation and feedback. He has performed at experimental music festivals such as ERTZ, SONIKAS, Zarata Fest, CALMA, Encuentros Sonoros, Modulartec or TEPEKALE SOUND; and in spaces and institutions such as CRUCE, Tabacalera (Madrid), Faculty of Fine Arts of the Universidad Complutense, Museo La Neomudéjar, Contenedor Cultural (Málaga), Centro Daoíz y Velarde, Cráter-LAB or Tabakalera (Donostia). He has recently released: Along the Edge of (Digital) on the Sirr-Records label (Portugal), Botanical Melancholia (CD) on Oigovisiones Label and Different Tunings (cassette) on Vertical Music (Berlin). He also teaches on the Master's Degree in Composition for Audiovisual Media at Katarina Gurska and runs workshops on synthesis with modular synthesizers.
